Region of Interest/Volume of
Interest Dialog (Roi/Voi Processing)

Region Processing Functions
Press
FilG
to
create a connected volume with pixel values contained between the
minimum
and maximum values entered or the mean +/- 3 standard deviations of the current
region of interest. The fill will start with the first pixel of the current
region of interest.
Select Add to
only add pixels if they are connected to a pixel in the current volume of
interest.
Note
If
there are any values entered for Lo and Hi, the
region of interest will not be used to determine the range. Clear the
fields if you would like the region of interest to be used to determine the
minimum and maximum of the pixel values to include.
Press Bnd to slice the images
between the upper and minimum pixel values entered to create a new volume of
interest bounded by the current region of interest.
Enter a value,
n, for # to indicate the slice number that the current
Lo and Hi values apply to.
Select Enable to enable slice #
n for processing.
Enter minimum
and maximum pixel values in Lo and Hi to indicate the range
of pixels values to include in the volume of interest for slice # n.
Select
Delete
Crossovers to enable deletion of connected objects that cross the edge of the initial region of interest.
Press All to set the minimum and maximum values for all slices the same as the current
Lo and Hi values.
Enter a minimum
value for Lo to indicate the minimum pixel value to include in the volume
of interest.
Enter a maximum
value for Hi to indicate the maximum pixel value to include in the volume
of interest.
Other Functions
Press Grid will
perform section statistics on the image using Y by X grid pattern.
Enter
Y for
the row size of the grid sections. |
Enter
X for
the column size of the grid sections. |
Press
Samp will
sample the region of interest to get 1 of every n pixels.
Enter a value for
1 of every n to sample 1 of every n pixels. |
Press Thr Peak
will create a region, or volume, of interest on the original image(s), where
a voxel is selected if it is contained in the selected part of the spatial
histogram (See Operation).
Select Current
Image from Region
or Volume Operation to perform Thr Peak on a single region of interest. |
Select All
Images 2D from
Region of Volume Operation to perform Thr Peak on each slice of a volume
of interest. |
Enter a
value, in # Std Dev, for the number of standard deviations from
the maximum of each peak to define the range of each peak. |
Enter the maximum gray level,
in Max, to be used on the histogram.
Enter the number of bins,
in # bins, to use for the histogram.
Enter the sigma,
iterations, in # Gauss, to apply on the histogram to smooth the curve.
Use
Operation to select the part of the histogram to
use to find the peak.
Select Largest Peak
to choose the single largest peak from histogram and threshold at maximum gray level of
the largest peak.
Select All Peaks > 1/2
to choose all peaks above 1/2 the maximum number of pixels on the histogram and threshold at maximum gray level of last peak.
Select Slice (One Peak)
to choose the peak closest to 1 and slice at the gray levels defining the minimum and maximum of the peak.
Select Slice (Zero Peak)
to choose peak closest to 0 and slice at the gray levels defining the minimum and maximum of the peak.
Select
Whole
Image to perform the slice over the whole image, otherwise it will be performed under the region of interest only.
Press Principal Axis
will create a report for the principal axis of the volume of interest. The
regions of interest will be saved with the user-supplied
extension.
Enter the size of a voxel
(in mm) for the X (columns) direction.
Enter the size of a voxel
(in mm) for the Y (rows) direction.
Enter the size of a voxel
(in mm) for the Z (thickness) direction.
Enter the size of a voxel
(in mm) for the Gap between slices.
Press
Make Signature
will create a signature with one or more processes from the volume of
interest. The signature is saved, automatically, with the user-supplied
extension. The regions of interest for each process will also be saved
with p# for an extension, where # is the process number. If an image does
not have a region of interest, the last available one is used.
Select
Single
to create a single process using the region (or volume) of interest to calculate the mean and standard deviation of each image.
Select Multiple
to create multiple processes by splitting the displayed region of interest into multiple regions of interest of size
N x N.
Enter the size,
in N x N, of the regions of interest.
