Image Save Dialog

This dialog is used to save, transfer, and convert the format of images.  Click on the image above to display the dialog actual size.  Click on any of the items below for detailed instructions.

Note

Most of the settings for the Image Save Dialog can be set through a resource file that is loaded at the start of the program.

Save Images

  1. If necessary, enter the Partition.

  2. Select the desired Path.

  3. Select a Format.

    1. HFH Format options

      1. Enter a New Folder, if desired.

      2. Select Patient, if desired.

      3. Enter an Extension.

    2. Dicom Format options.

      1. Enter an optional Series Description

      2. Select 16 bit integer, if desired.

  4. Select 1, 2, 3, or, 4 to indicated the Browser containing the images to save.

  5. Choose Files to Save. (filtered images only)

  6. Press Save.

Transfer and/or Convert the format of  Images

  1. If necessary, enter the Partition.

  2. Select the desired Path.

  3. Select a Format.

    1. HFH Format options

      1. Enter an optional extension.

    2. Dicom Format options

      1. Enter an optional Series Description.

      2. Select 16 bit integer, if desired.

  4. Select the Files from Browser to transfer and/or convert the images selected in the Image Load dialog.

  5. Press Save.

Partition

This text entry and menu allows the user to enter a partition and select any Path within that partition.

To change partitions, highlight and overwrite the current selection and hit Enter.  Use the menu provided to select a Path within that partition.

Path

This select any path within the user-selected Partition. Use the menu provided to select the path.  (See Format for detailed directory structure information).

Format

This selection allows the user to specify which image format the images will be saved in. Each format displays the directory structure that will be created, items in bold should exist with the exact spelling. The Path selected in the Image Save Dialog is used in place of path below.

Patient

Select the Patient directory to save the images into. If none is selected, a folder will be created using the patient name and date.

Note

See also New Folder (HFH only) to create a new Patient directory.

Enter a new folder name to be added to the Patient (HFH only) selection.

Extension

Ext, Enter an extension to identify the images.

Series Description

Series Description, Enter a series description to identify the images. This will be added to the series description of the image, when the image is saved.

16 bit integer

Select 16 bit integer to convert Dicom floating point images, or 32 bit integer images, to 16 bit integer images before saving.  This does not modify the image in the program.  Use this option if you are transferring eigenimages, or other floating point images created by eigentool, to another Dicom device.  The image data will be rescaled to the maximum range of the 16 bit integer data type.  The scale factor used will be in the Rescale Slope dicom element, which is in the Image group.

Browser

Select one of 1, 2, 3, 4 from Browser to indicate which browser to save images from.

Select Files to transfer and/or convert the format of the selected images in the Image Load dialog.  An optional extension (HFH only) can be used.

Files to Save (eigenimages only)

Additional files are saved when eigenimages are saved.  Use this item to select which are saved.

Image: Enable or disable saving the eigenimage.

bullet

Signature: Enable or disable saving a signature file.

bullet

Vector: Enable or disable saving the signature file with the filter vector.

bullet

Report: Enable or disable saving a report file on the signature vectors.

bullet

Dicom Header: Enable or disable saving a dicom format header for the eigenimage.

Image Report: Enable or disable saving a report file on the eigenimage.

Save

Press Save to save the images from the selected Browser.

Cancel

Press Cancel to remove dialog.

Help

Press Help for on-line help (HTML)

Send via DICOM (Dicom only)

Press Send via DICOM to send the selected images to another DICOM device.  If a browser is selected, all images in that browser will be sent.

Note

This option only works if the Mallinkrodt Institute of Radiology CTN software has been downloaded and installed on the computer.  This package is used to perform the Send via DICOM function.

Destination

Select one the predefined Dicom devices, which will fill in the I.P., AET, and port #.  If Other is shown, no predefined Dicom devices are present.  If Other is selected, the user enters the I.P., AET, and port #.

I.P.

Enter the I.P. address of the destination Dicom device.

AET

Enter the Application Entity Title of the Dicom device.

Enter the port # of the destination Dicom device.
