File Load Dialog

This dialog is used to load, compress, uncompress, and delete files used by the eigentool program.  Click on the image above to display the dialog in actual size. Click on any of the items below for detailed instructions.

Note

Most of the settings for the File Load Dialog can be set through a resource file that is loaded at the start of the program.

Load Files

  1. If necessary, Enter the Partition.

  2. Select the desired Path.

  3. Select a Format

  4. Select File Type.

  5. Select Match Locations, if needed.

  6. Unselect Compressed.

  7. Select Patient.

  8. Limit the files shown by using the File Filter fields.  Change the order of the files using the File Sort buttons.

  9. Select Files to load.

  10. Region of Interest operations only

    1. Select Load Operation, if desired.

    2. Select Sample/Replicate options, if necessary.

  11. Select the Browser to load the files.

  12. Press Load.

Select Files

  1. If necessary, Enter the Partition.

  2. Select the desired Path.

  3. Select a Format

  4. Select/unselect Compressed.

  5. Select File Type.

  6. Select Match Locations, if needed.

  7. Select Patient.

  8. Limit the files shown by using the File Filter fields.  Change the order of the files using the File Sort buttons.

  9. Select Files, if not all are to be processed.

Compress Files

  1. If necessary, Enter the Partition.

  2. Select the desired Path.

  3. Select a Format

  4. Unselect Compressed.

  5. Select Patient.

  6. Limit the files shown by using the File Filter fields.  Change the order of the files using the File Sort buttons.

  7. Select Files, if not all should be compressed.

  8. Press Compress. If no files are selected, all will be compressed.

Uncompress Files

  1. If necessary, Enter the Partition.

  2. Select the desired Path.

  3. Select a Format

  4. Select Compressed.

  5. Select Patient.

  6. Limit the files shown by using the File Filter fields.  Change the order of the files using the File Sort buttons.

  7. Select Files, if not all should be uncompressed.

  8. Press Uncompress. If no files are selected, all will be uncompressed.

Delete Files

  1. If necessary, Enter the Partition.

  2. Select the desired Path.

  3. Select a Format

  4. Select Patient.

  5. Select an option for Reverse.

  6. Unselect Compressed.

  7. Limit the files shown by using the File Filter fields.  Change the order of the files using the File Sort buttons.

  8. Select Files, if not all should be deleted.

  9. Press Delete.

Dialog Items

Partition

This text entry and menu allows the user to enter a partition and select any Path within that partition.

To change partitions, highlight and overwrite the current selection and hit Enter.  Use the menu provided to select a Path within that partition.

Path

This selects any path within the user-selected Partition. Use the menu provided to select the path.  (See Format for detailed directory structure information)

Format

This selection allows the user to specify which file format the files are in. Each format displays the directory structure that is expected, items in bold should exist with the exact spelling. The Path selected in the File Load Dialog is used in place of path below.

Select Hfh for Henry Ford Hospital format files

Select DICOM for Dicom format files

Note

Currently only used for Regions of Interest and Signatures.

File Type

bullet

Region of Interest will save the current region of interest from the selected Browser. Files will end with .roi.

bullet

Signature will save the current signatures from the selected Browser. Files will end with .sig or .rep.

Match Locations

If selected, the Files will be loaded on the image with the matching location from the Browser.

If not selected, the Files will be loaded on the current image from the Browser.

Compressed

If selected, the compressed Files will be displayed.

If not selected, the uncompressed Files will be displayed.

Load Operation (Region of Interest only)

OR Select to add the region(s) of interest to the display image.

bullet

Delete Select to delete the region(s) of interest from the display image.

bullet

AND Select to use logical AND between the displayed region of interest and the region(s) of interest to load.

bullet

XOR Select to use logical XOR between the displayed region of interest and the region(s) of interest to load.

Sample/Replicate Options (Region of Interest only)

Use this option to modify the size of the region of interest being loaded. This is useful if a region was created on an image of a different size than the image that is displayed.

1/64 will load the region of interest as 1/64 of its actual size.

bullet

1/32 will load the region of interest as 1/32 of its actual size.

bullet

1/16 will load the region of interest as 1/16 of its actual size.

bullet

1/8 will load the region of interest as 1/8 of its actual size.

bullet

1/4 will load the region of interest as 1/4 of its actual size.

bullet

1/2 will load the region of interest as 1/2 of its actual size

bullet

1 will load the region of interest as its actual size

bullet

2 will load the region of interest 2 times its actual size

bullet

4 will load the region of interest 4 times its actual size

bullet

8 will load the region of interest 8 times its actual size

bullet

16 will load the region of interest 16 times its actual size

bullet

32 will load the region of interest 32 times its actual size

bullet

64 will load the region of interest 64 times its actual size

bullet

Browser

Select one of 1, 2, 3, 4 from Browser to indicate which browser to load the files into.

Studies

This list is used to select the files that are displayed. Only files for the selected Studies are displayed.  If you are unable to see all of a field, select the box and press the arrow keys.

Sort

Use on the following buttons to sort the study list.  Pressing the same sort button twice will reverse the order.

Press Last Name to sort the studies by the patient's last name.

bullet

Press First Name to sort the studies by the patient's first name.

bullet

Press ID to sort the studies by the patient's medical record number.

bullet

Press Mod to sort the studies by modality.

bullet

Press Study Date to sort the studies by the study date.

bullet

Press Study to sort the studies by the study number.

bullet

Press Series to sort the studies by the series number.

bullet

Press # Files to sort the studies by the number of files in each study.  The information displayed is # files uncompressed/# files compressed.

Press Description to sort the studies by the study description.

Filter

Enter a wild card selection string in any field below a sort button to limit the studies listed. The filter will apply to the field indicated by the button above the filter.  Enter any combination of letters, numbers, * (match one or more characters), ? (match single character), and [] (match single character to contents of brackets).   Press <Enter> or <Return> to activate the filter.  You can enter filters in multiple fields, if desired.

Files

This list is used to select files to load, compress, uncompress, or delete.   If you are unable to see all of a field, select the box and press the arrow keys.

See Compressed for options that modify the display of this list.

Sort

Use on the following buttons to sort the file list.  Pressing the same sort button twice will reverse the order.

Press Last Name to sort the files by the patient's last name.

bullet

Press First Name to sort the files by the patient's first name.

bullet

Press Study to sort the files by the study number.

bullet

Press Series to sort the files by the series number.

bullet

Press Image to sort the files by the image number.

bullet

Press Loctn to sort the files by location.

bullet

Press Thick to sort the files by slice thickness.

bullet

Press TE to sort the files by echo time.

bullet

Press TR to sort the files by recovery time.

bullet

Press TI to sort the files by inversion time.

bullet

Press Description to sort the files by the study description.

Note

This is disabled when Sort is not selected.

Load

Press Load to load the files from the selected Browser Selection.

Compress

Press Compress to compress the selected Files. If no Files are selected, all will be compressed. Compressed must not be selected.

Uncompress

Press Uncompress to uncompress the selected Files. If no compressed Files are selected, all will be uncompressed. Compressed must be selected.

Delete

Press Delete to delete the selected Files.

bullet

Update Dicom

Press Update Dicom to rebuild the dicom database for the selected Path.  The database is created if it does not exist.  All entries with missing files will be deleted, then all new files will be added (determined by checking a database tmestamp).

Select All Files to update the database timestamp by rebuilding it from scratch and checking all files.

bullet

Cancel

Press Cancel to remove dialog.
