Eigentool

Eigentool is a comprehensive package that is useful in a variety of medical image analysis applications. It features integrated tools for display processing and information extraction.

Getting Started

Click the above link for information on getting, installing, and using the software.  Also included is a FAQ section on the most common problems encountered installing and/or using the program.  Please check this section before requesting additional help.

Starting the Program

The program can be started using the one of the following methods:

Eigentool shortcut on the Desktop

Start->All Programs->Henry Ford Health System->Eigentool->Eigentool

Open a command prompt and type the following:

C:\Program Files\Henry Ford Health System\Eigentool\bin\Eigentool.exe [-log] [-dho] [image files]

-log:	The user will be prompted for a text file that all selected debugging information will be saved to.  For non-Administrators, all debugging information will be displayed.  For Administrators, only the debugging information selected in Tools->Options will be displayed.  The options -d, -h -o and image files will be ignored.
-d:	The following image files are in Dicom format.
-h:	The following image files are in HFH format.
-o:	The following image files are JPEG, Bitmap, GIF or Tiff format.
image files:	The image files will be loaded once eigentool has started.

The following window will appear.

Eigentool Main Window

Images can be loaded from the Image Load window, which is brought up by Selecting File->Load->Images from the menu at the top of the window.  Once images are loaded, you can access the Regions of Interest functions or one of the many Tools available.

You can access specific sections of the on-line help from within the program by selecting the Help button in each window.  This page can be reached from one of the following ways:

  • Arrange, to put all windows in a single window with user-configurable locations.

  • Horizontal, to layout all windows horizontally in a single window.

  • Vertical, to layout all windows vertically in a single window.

Acknowledgments

System Requirements 

Operating System:

Windows NT or Windows XP (32-bit only)

.NET framework 1.1.4322

Display/Monitor:

1280x1024 or higher is preferred, 640x480 minimum

8 bit monochrome, 8, 16, 24, or 32 bit color

Computer:

Pentium III or higher

512 Mb memory preferred, 128 Mb minimum.
